Build It Here, Install It There, in One Click
If you use Gmail, your signature can now be installed directly from the builder. Authorize once, press a button, and it is in your account.
Why copy and paste was the weak point
The old instructions were: select the preview, copy it, open your email settings, paste it into the signature box, save. That works about seventy percent of the time.
The other thirty percent is where the whole feature fell down. Selecting a rendered block reliably is fiddly. Some browsers copy a plain text version instead. Some paste targets strip the layout. And when it goes wrong it does not fail loudly, it just produces a signature that is subtly worse than the one you designed, which you then send to four hundred people without noticing.
What the button does
Writes the signature into your Gmail settings exactly as built, for the address you choose. If you have several addresses on one account, you pick which one. Existing signatures are left alone unless you tell us to replace one.
What we can and cannot see
The permission requested covers signature settings only. We cannot read your mail, and we do not ask for the permission that would allow it. You can revoke access from your own account settings at any time and the signature already installed stays where it is.
Worth being plain about this because "connect your email account" is a request that should make people suspicious, and the correct response to it is to check what is being asked for.
If you use something else
Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird and the rest still need copy and paste, and the builder gives you a properly formatted block for exactly that. There is a per-client instruction set next to the copy control, because the location of the signature setting is different in every one of them and none of them are where you expect.
Update it when things change
The connection is not a live sync. Change your signature here and you press the button again. That is deliberate: silently rewriting settings in somebody's email account without them asking is not a behavior we want to have.
