So acting's something I've always wanted to try. I'm in college now (studying something else) but I've been taking some classes in my free time. The thing is, I'm total shit. Even compared to other beginners in my classes I'm really, really bad. I think it might be a combination of anxiety and low self esteem, but I ca…

I have a voicee that is suitable for voice overs, but when I record myself I find I sound stilted and unnatural. Does anyone have any tips on how I can train myself to sound more natural? I have a good home recording studio but have always used this for music. It's perfect for voice recording, alas, I am not.

I’m doing a course on branding and marketing for Actors and part of that means finding your own personal “Brand”. Below is a link to a super quick and easy survey that will help me figure that out! This is my first post here. I have always wanted to be an actor since from the time I was very little. I used to be very extroverted, and each time I saw people I'd love to put on a show for them. Ever since I developed a stutter in 5th grade however, my extrovertedness turned into shyness and introversion. I'm 17 righ…

I've been in 2 small projects before in my life. One I was a small actor, the other I just helped carry equipment. The first short film was riddled with people who were seemingly obsessed with "roles". Not so much in terms of who they played - but TITLES. Who they were. God forbid someone touched a light by mistake or…

I recently had a great meeting with the head of talent for a reputable talent agency based out of NY. The head of talent met with me (he’s been in the business 30 years) and we really hit it off. He seemed super helpful and very friendly. I scored a meeting with him through my Mother Agent for modeling. I may edit this…

If you watch a movie or something you've starred in, can you get into the movie? Or does the fact that you're in it make it less amusing, idk I always wondered if a hero or villain of a movie would enjoy it given that they probably won't be able to get their mind off the fact that it's them and they might already know…

I know it’s the three column one, but what I’m asking is how to list the role on a short I worked on. It’s with an ensemble cast (equal screen time, dialogue, and all that jazz). It’s in the same vein as Friends and How I Met Your Mother. Would that be considered “supporting”, “lead”, etc?
